Empowering Kenyan Women
With An Ocean ~  Bahari ~ Between Us

We Still Reach Across
Bahari Sisters has been working to improve the status of Kenyan women in the areas of employment, education and healthcare for over ten years. It began with Ms. Jones distributing personal care items to women on a 2006 mission trip to Nairobi.  She was moved by the resiliance of women who raised children and ran households on limited incomes, inspite of the fact that many were multi-lingual business minded craftswomen.  Ms. Jones began the process of establishing Bahari Sisters Inc. to lend financial support to help Kenyan women get on the path to self-sufficiency.  Bahari received its 501c3 status in 2012, and since then has provided seed monies for new businesses, supported women already doing business, provided individual and institutional scholarships and supported initiatives to improve the quality of life in Nairobi and surrounding communities. Bahari is honored to have partnered with HabiHut www.thehabihut.com , New Grid Networks, and Afripads www.afripads.com
It is only because of our donors and partners that we are able to do what we do!
